'Piece of Cake' is a series of unique wall reliefs in which flowers, pastel colours and softly diffused airbrush painting create a deliberately sweet and slightly nostalgic world.
The base of each work is 3D-printed, after which every relief is painted by hand. Finally, the surface is finished with two thick layers of resin. The combination of resin and paraffin creates a slightly hazy, caramel-like surface that deepens the colours and gives the works an almost frosted, confectionery-like appearance. The visual language of the series echoes old decorative objects, painted plaster reliefs and ceramics, where colour does not always follow the form precisely but spreads softly across the surface.
This slight imprecision and haziness is an essential part of the character of the works. 'Piece of Cake' series is rooted in joy, ornamentation and the idea that art can sometimes simply be something light, sweet and uplifting. The piece has recessed hanging points on the back, making it easy to mount on the wall with a small nail or screw.
Thanks to its light weight, it can also be hung using strong double-sided mounting tape.
