Komugi Ando
Komugi Ando is a Japanese artist based in Finland whose practice spans sculpture, painting, installation and sound. Working across different media, Ando explores perception, memory, space and the subtle relationships between sound, image and physical form. Her works often move between material and immaterial experiences, creating situations in which sound becomes both a sculptural and atmospheric element. The sound work presented at Limited Time Gallery originates from a live performance previously presented through Äänen Lumo in Helsinki. In this exhibition, the work is recontextualized as part of a curated online viewing experience, extending its presence beyond the original performance setting. Alongside her sound-based practice, Ando continues to work with sculpture, painting and installation. New works incorporating sound will also be presented in her upcoming exhibition at Sculptor Gallery in Helsinki. Born in Japan, Ando lives and works in Finland.
Teemu Salonen
Teemu Salonen is a Finnish artist and designer working at the intersection of sculpture, collectible design, and material experimentation. His practice draws on a wide range of techniques and materials — fiberglass, ceramics, glass, metal, and 3D-printed biopolymers among them — finished with resin, paint, and mixed media. Each work’s form and material are chosen to best realise the idea at hand, resulting in pieces that oscillate between the botanical, the fantastical, and the precisely crafted. Salonen’s work has been presented internationally through collaborations with leading design galleries, including an ongoing project with Todd Merrill Studio, New York. Several works from The Secret Garden — Limited Time Gallery’s current exhibition — are on loan to Lokal Gallery’s summer exhibition At First Blush (28 June – 23 August 2026) at Bruksvägen 9, Billnäs, where they can be seen in person. Please note that works on loan cannot be shipped until after 23 August 2026. In 2024, Salonen and sound artist Komugi Ando realised a public sculpture series for "piritori", Helsinki — a collaboration that continues in the present exhibition. Together they also curated and ran Ars Auttoinen, an annual summer exhibition programme in Auttoinen that Salonen founded in 2009 and which ran until 2016. Limited Time Gallery is Salonen’s own curatorial project — a space for presenting his work and that of artists he collaborates with closely.
