About

Limited Time is a curated online gallery for contemporary art, collectible design and sound art.

It is conceived as a gallery rather than a general online store: a place for selected works, focused presentations and carefully built contexts. The emphasis is on clarity, atmosphere and conviction — on works that can hold attention, carry tension and remain compelling over time.

The gallery brings together artists and works through exhibition-like structures — drops, limited-time presentations or more sustained curatorial groupings. The format is intended to remain light and adaptable, while still feeling credible and distinct.

In a physical exhibition, placement is never neutral. Meaning is shaped through rhythm, proximity, contrast, scale, silence and atmosphere. Limited Time brings this thinking into the digital space: the scrolling format, sound, sequencing and visual continuity are treated as part of the curatorial process, not as a neutral display. The aim is not to show everything, but to build focused presentations where each work has room to affect the next.

Many works are presented for a limited period, reflecting a preference for time-based formats rather than permanent open-ended listings. Works are often delivered directly from the artist’s studio, creating a more immediate relationship between artist, work and collector.

Founded by sculptor and designer Teemu Salonen, the programme remains open to collaboration with invited co-curators, and the founder's own works may appear as part of selected curatorial constellations when they meaningfully contribute to the whole.

Founder

Limited Time is founded by Teemu Salonen, a Finnish sculptor and designer based in Auttoinen, a small village in southern Finland.

Salonen's practice centres on sculptural objects that sit between art and design — works informed by craftsmanship, material experimentation and a sensibility that draws freely from classical form, kitsch, decoration and humour. He has exhibited across Europe and North America, and has been represented by Todd Merrill Studio, New York, since 2019.

Alongside his studio practice, Salonen has worked extensively as a curator. From 2009 to 2016 he founded and ran Ars Auttoinen, an independent exhibition centre in southern Finland, through which he developed a sustained practice of building focused exhibition contexts for contemporary art and design.

Limited Time is the point where these two threads meet — a gallery conceived from the inside out, by someone who has spent equal time in the studio and in the curatorial process.
