CLAIMS & RETURNS — Limited Time Gallery
Limited Time Gallery is a trading name of Suomen Muotoilutoimisto, a registered sole trader (toiminimi) based in Finland. Limited Time Gallery acts as a commercial agent on behalf of artists and makers. Works are sold on consignment and may ship directly from the artist's studio or workshop. Suomen Muotoilutoimisto remains the seller of record and is responsible for all customer-facing obligations under applicable consumer protection law.
Inspection & Damage Claims
All artworks are carefully inspected, documented, and professionally packed before shipment. Upon delivery, the recipient must inspect the package immediately.
If there is any visible damage to the outer packaging upon delivery, please note this at the time of receipt as "Packaging damaged, contents subject to inspection."
Any damage must be reported to us by email within 48 hours of delivery, including:
- Photographs of the outer packaging (all sides)
- Photographs of the full artwork
- Close-up photographs of any damage
Claims submitted after 48 hours of delivery may not be eligible for review. Once an artwork has been moved from the original delivery address, or after the 48-hour period has passed, Limited Time Gallery cannot assume responsibility for transit damage. Please retain all original packaging until the claim is resolved.
Right of Withdrawal — EU/EEA Customers
If you are a consumer located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU.
To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing at info@limitedtime.gallery before the 14-day period expires.
The following conditions apply:
- Return authorisation required. Contact us before initiating any return. Unauthorised returns will not be accepted.
- Return address. As artworks ship directly from artists' studios, there is no single central return address. Returns must be sent to the original dispatch address or another address confirmed by Limited Time Gallery during the authorisation process.
- Professional packaging required. The artwork must be repacked to the same or higher standard as the original shipment, using the original packaging materials where possible.
- Equivalent shipping service required. Returns must be sent using a tracked, insured freight service of equivalent or higher standard to the original delivery — for example DHL Express or equivalent. Standard postal services are not acceptable for fragile or high-value works.
- Return shipping costs. Unless the artwork arrived damaged or materially differs from its description, all return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
- Customs duties and import taxes. Any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and related charges arising from a return are the responsibility of the buyer unless the artwork arrived damaged or materially differed from its description.
- Condition upon return. The artwork must be returned in substantially the same condition as delivered, subject only to handling necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. The buyer is responsible for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary for such inspection.
Refunds are issued within 14 days of receiving and inspecting the returned artwork. Where a refund is due, Suomen Muotoilutoimisto will refund the purchase price and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option available for the order. Premium shipping, expedited freight, white-glove delivery, installation, or special handling fees selected by the customer are non-refundable. Refunds are made via the original payment method.
Final Sale — EU/EEA Customers
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to the following, in accordance with Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU:
- Commissioned works — artworks made to order at the customer's request
- Custom or personalised works — works created or modified to the customer's specifications
- Made-to-order works — works produced specifically following a confirmed order
- Digital content — where delivery or download has begun with the customer's prior consent and acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is thereby waived
Unique artworks and limited edition works that are held in stock are not automatically excluded from the right of withdrawal solely on the basis of being unique or limited in number.
Sales to Customers Outside the EU/EEA
For customers located outside the European Economic Area, all sales are final and non-refundable, except where the artwork arrives damaged in transit or materially differs from its description on the product page. In such cases, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence.
Shipping & Returns for Large or Fragile Works
For large, fragile, or high-value artworks, shipping is arranged on a case-by-case basis. Where applicable, the product page will state: "Shipping is quoted separately based on destination, size and handling requirements."
Returns of such works must be arranged using a freight service of equivalent or higher standard to the original delivery, with full insurance cover for the declared value of the artwork.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Suomen Muotoilutoimisto's total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the purchase price of the artwork. We are not liable for indirect or consequential costs, including but not limited to installation, removal, storage, reinstallation, loss of use, or professional service fees required for repair or replacement.
