Golden Chinese Restaurant is a wall-mounted sculpture composed of overlapping fan-shaped ceramic forms — their ribbed surfaces glazed and then painted over in gold, with deep crimson catching in the recesses between each lobe.
The work belongs to Teemu Salonen’s Chinese Restaurant series, where organic, almost biological forms are rendered in ceramic and finished with a deliberate clash of materials: industrial glaze beneath hand-applied gold paint, the precious and the prosaic in quiet collision.
Rich and dense from a distance, the sculpture opens into intricate surface detail up close — each form distinct, the whole inseparable.

This work will be loaned on exhibition during summer 2026 and is available for collection or delivery from September 2026 onwards.
