Blooming Coral No. 7 is a compact wall sculpture from Teemu Salonen’s ongoing Blooming Coral series. Smaller in scale than some of the earlier works in the series, it has an intimate, almost jewel-like presence: a clustered organic form that sits lightly on the wall while still carrying the tactile richness of a sculptural object.
The work is digitally sculpted, 3D printed in PLA, hand-painted, and finished with a glossy resin coating. Its softly ribbed petal-like surfaces catch the light from different angles, shifting between pale yellow, greenish tones, and subtle pearlescent highlights.
Although designed primarily as a wall-mounted sculpture, the piece can also be placed on a shelf, table, or cabinet. A small metal hanging loop on the back makes installation simple with a single small nail or screw.
Blooming Coral No. 7 continues Salonen’s exploration of ornamental growth, synthetic nature, and small sculptural forms that can inhabit domestic spaces with both delicacy and presence.
